Education

From birth through the teenage years, the provision of age appropriate educational and developmental tools is crucial to an orphan's future success. Hope's Heart support endeavors to provide books, school tuitions, and developmental toys to promote stimulation, learning and growth for orphans of all ages.

Contributing to the physical, social and cognitive growth of children through sponsorship for public school attendance or schooling within the orphanage for students who are unable to attend school locally.

What are the Children Learning?
January 2022- Learning is as diverse as the children themselves.  Here is just a sampling of what you might see them experiencing:
  • Small and large motor skills and hand coordination through play activities
  • Muscle strengthening
  • Self care, feeding of themselves, use of bathroom
  • Navigating the classroom and outside activities
  • Location of body parts, selection of clothing, and independent dressing
  • Distinguishing of sounds
  • Social interaction
  • Walking with a cane
  • Language development
  • Music and singing
  • Outdoor learning experiences, trees, flowers, leaves, seasons
  • Clothing and textures
  • Going up and down stairs

Eleven Children Continue in 2022 with Education Sponsorships
January 2022- Hope's Heart has watched as our twelve education children have gained progress and confidence in the past year.  Each day they learn to navigate their unseen or visually impaired world.  We continue their sponsorship in 2022 and await news of even more advancement.

2021 Children Served 
Welcome Leonardo
January 2021- Hope's Heart is thrilled to begin sponsorship of three year old Leonardo in the education program for visually impaired orphans.  Leonardo is a sweet and active little guy who loves to be cuddled.  We know that his teachers will be a huge asset to helping guide him in navigating the world around him.  
Eleven Children Continue into 2021 with Education Sponsorships
January 2021- Hope's Heart has watched as our eleven education children have gained progress and confidence in the past year, as they learn to navigate their unseen or visually impaired world.  We continue their sponsorship in 2021.

Three More Education Sponsorships
July 2020- Hope's Heart is honored to begin sponsorship of three additional children with visual impairments for their educational development.  Welcome Michael, Kelly and Luke.
Welcoming New Student
February 2020- Seven year old Jaden is welcomed as our newest sponsor child in the education program for visually impaired orphans.  We know he will flourish in the encouraging and uplifting environment of the school and under the direction of dedicated teachers.
Weighted Vests
January 2020- Weighted vests are designed to support children with various sensory needs.  The weight in specific parts of the vest help the children to calm down, focus and/or cope with sensory overload.  Children with visual impairment can benefit greatly from wearing the vest during times of the day where focused learning is most important.  Hope's Heart is honored to provide ten of these vest for some of the visually impaired children we support.
Importance of Education
January 2020- Education is fundamental to every child's healthy development. We begin the new year with the sponsorship of nine children for their daily education development. These children all have some level of visual impairment. Specially trained teachers direct and encourage them in a focused atmosphere to provide them the greatest level of development. Introducing Kenny, Chandler, Alice, Georgie, Hayden, Hunter, Mathew, Callie and Shirley. May they have a happy and productive year.

February Update-  Callie has been moved to another program designed to give her expanded opportunities for learning.  We wish this precious girl all the best.
